Walking Rocks

Image
Have you ever seen rocks walking? NO??!! Can rocks walk? Yes. At the Death Valley in Eastern California, Rocks walk. Recetrack Palya is what exactly the place is called. Located in Mojave Desert in California, the place has other oddities too, like this place is situated about 86 metres below the sea level and yet is the hottest and driest place in North America. The rocks that moved weren’t light as one may think. They were heavy like 318 kgs (yes, three hundred and eighteen kilograms). Sometimes the trails they left measured as long as 250 metres (a quarter kilometre). What made them move or what quest these rocks had or whom they wanted to visit has been a mystery for years. People claimed it could be alien’s job – it could be devils – it could be magnetism – it could be heavy winds or simply it could have been by some pranksters. From where do these rocks come from is also not clear, but were safely assumed that they were from the adjacent hills. ...

The story of how EGO kills LOVE

Once upon a time, there was an island called the "Feelings Island". It homed all types of feelings such as Happiness, Sadness, Love, Hatred, Ego, Care, Jealousy, Panic, etc. While they lived together and had a great time, each feeling played its own rule in an indefatigably glib manner, never drifting from their nature. It was just another pleasant morning of sunrise, in this island. 'Jealousy' was the first one to rise, as it always wanted to be the first, it did not like others waking up before it. 'Care' was taking care of everybody else. 'Love' was loving everybody, spreading smiles and happiness. 'Hatred' was hating everybody and everything for one or the other reason. 'Ego' was sitting in one corner not mingling with anyone, as it felt that it was better than everybody else and no one was good enough for it to be friends with. It was going normal until 'Panic' alarmed everyone on the oncoming "Tsunami" Lo...

A Poem to Inspire!

They will say, You’re pretty, Yes it is true, But do not let your appearance, Define you. They will say, You’re stubborn, It is a good thing to be, It means you know what you want, And stand up for what you believe. The will say you can’t do it, You must prove them wrong, Don’t let others’ negativity, Make you think you’re not strong. They will try to tempt you, With shallow, pretty things, Remember what is good and right, Your truth will give you wings. They could be a girl or boy, A friend or enemy, They could be the voice inside your head, Doubting all your dreams Nobody in this world is without flaws, Sadly, not even me, You don’t need to be perfect, Just be the best that you can be Remember who you are, my love, There’s a light inside of you, Share your gifts with those you know And to yourself,  Be True! Why Gold Prices Crashed

The past ten days, all of us know that gold prices have slumped. Here is an insight into the why’s and how’s of it. Stock and Commodity markets still run under the age old demand-supply theory. And Gold prices fell due to the excessive supply of Gold in the International Market (especially US) and India primarily relies on imports for Gold.    1.      With the US Economy in the recovering phase, the investors have once again found the equity market attractive and are moving away from gold, which they considered as a safe-haven investment. This has led to the rising supply of gold in the commodity market.   2.      The investors are also selling the gold they own in paper, forcing the Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) to sell their gold stock to buy back these papers. However there is a conspiracy theory, which is more interesting and which better explains this abrupt fall. This was schemed by some large b...

Just a “Cup of Coffee”!

Image
Head Ache - Boredom - Catching up with friends - Serving guests - A refreshing start for the day -  Late night studies for exams - Starting a conversation - Just a matter of habit - Feeling chill on rainy days - Well! There’s a coffee for every reason! The brown caffeinated drink has become a necessity in life for many. And for some, it is a matter of boasting to have an expensive cup of the bitter drink at CCD. Some like it hot, some like it cold and some like it not. Some believe the more expensive – the more tasty coffee. Some seem to be on the ever growing quest for that “perfect” cup of coffee. Some aren’t too much concerned about the tags attached, just the name “coffee” would do for them. Some Coffee facts:       Coffee originated in Ethiopia when the shepherds noticed their sheep frisk and dance after eating the coffee beans       Coffee is actually the seed of the fruit called coffee bean, dried-roasted-...
